San Francisco Bay

Since 2022, this group has connected the queer community across San Francisco, Oakland, and beyond.

Upcoming Events

One of the best ways to connect is by joining us at an upcoming event.

How It All Began

With the relocation of a board member to the West Coast, it was natural to form a group in the San Francisco Bay. The group maintains a relaxed West Coast identity while expanding our presence and awareness, creating a welcoming environment for the queer community in the industry.

Our Co-City Leaders

Laith Nuqul

Laith, who grew up in Jordan and is of Palestinian and Syrian descent, attended Virginia Tech and practiced as a licensed architect for eight years before transitioning to construction management at Turner Construction. Now leading the Northern California group of Turner’s national Pride Network, Laith was introduced to Build Out Alliance by a colleague. He was drawn to us because we offer a unique opportunity to unite Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and corporate sponsors across the design, construction, and real estate industries to create lasting, positive change in our communities.

Jonathan Nasser

Jonathan is a Project Manager at Clark Construction and Co-Chair of Clark’s LGBTQ+ employee resource group, LEAP. Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, and raised in Tampa, Florida, Jonathan is passionate about promoting visibility and community for queer professionals in the AEC industry. After discovering Build Out Alliance while living in Washington D.C., he helped establish the local group there. Upon relocating to San Francisco, Jonathan continued his involvement and now serves as Co-City Chair, connecting Build Out’s national board with the local community and coordinating events.
