This is your chance to build strong bonds within the design, construction, and real estate industry while making a tangible difference in our community. You'll work alongside dedicated staff and culinary students, helping to prepare nutritious meals that feed our neighbors. No cooking experience? No problem! Just bring your enthusiasm and a desire to connect.

Allies and friends welcome! A limited number of spots will be available to Build Out Alliance members. Volunteers must sign DC Central Kitchen's General Liability and Waiver form. The Event Agenda:
5:45 PM - 6:00 PM: Arrive & Check-In Get settled, grab your aprons, and get ready to lend a hand!
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM: Meal Preparation & Community Building Work with the DC Central Kitchen team to cut, chop, peel, and prep fresh produce for balanced meals. This is a fantastic opportunity to collaborate and connect with fellow queer and ally professionals.
8:00 PM Onwards: Post-Volunteer Camaraderie (Optional) Continue the good vibes at Dacha Beer Garden in Navy Yard (weather permitting) for some well-deserved food and conversation.

Getting There:
Address: DC Central Kitchen is located at 2121 First Street SW, 20024, in the Buzzard Point neighborhood behind Audi Field. Our main entrance is on V Street, between First and 2nd Street.
Public Transportation:
Metro: We're closest to the Waterfront Metro Station (Green Line).
Bus: The Metro Bus (Route 74) also runs directly in front of the facility from the Waterfront station.
Parking: Street parking is limited, so we recommend considering public transport or ride-sharing. If driving, here are nearby paid options:
James Creek Marina Parking Lot: An open lot with an entrance on 2nd & V Street. Flat fee of $20.
Atlantic Parking Garage @ The Stacks: A covered garage with an entrance on 2nd Street. Flat fee of $25 (or $20 if you arrive before 9 AM).
Bicycles:
Bike racks are available on-site if you prefer to cycle. Please bring your own lock!
