About The Novel

Don't be fooled by Elliott's seemingly perfect life—successful career, doting boyfriend—the reality is a bit messier (and way more relatable!). This funny, tender novel delves into Elliott's struggles with addiction, self-image, and the challenges of navigating a world that often throws up barriers for people with disabilities. After falling down a rabbit hole of sex, drinking, and Hollywood backstabbing, Elliott decides to limp his way toward redemption. But, facing your demons is easier said than done.

About The Author

Ryan O'Connell is a force to be reckoned with. Not only is he the hilarious mind behind the Netflix series "Special," but he's also an actor and producer who's been breaking barriers in the entertainment industry as the star of "Queer as Folk" and the series "Special".  Known for his sharp wit and unflinching honesty, O'Connell brings his unique perspective to life in "Just By Looking At Him," a novel that's as laugh-out-loud funny as it is deeply moving.
